From the 19th until the 20th of November the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Skopje will host the Erasmus + Multiplier event, the Online Conference of the Erasmus KA2 Project titled “Innovation in Education: Intersecting Sciences and Humanities”.

The scope of the event is to discuss the scientific potential as well as the socio-economic one of building curricula that bring humanities and hard sciences closer together, bridging the disciplinary divide by engaging into problem centered dialogue of scientists and the scholars of the humanities, arts and social sciences. One of the problem areas that the project tackles more closely is the production of curricula in which the humanities are able to engage in effective collaborative build-up of knowledge with the science, and the other way around, yielding concrete results for: a) the scientific advancement, but also 2) empowers science to competently reflect on its goals and produce a useful “meta-discourse” of its goals and principles. The idea is that the findings are applicable for the national and European strategies of innovation based economy, focusing more closely on the policies that could be developed for North Macedonia, an EU accession country.

The multiplier event will be an occasion to present and discuss the four curriculum models the project consortium has developed, as well as to invite discussion from both an academic perspective as well as that of policy making. The project is carried out by the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities – Skopje, University of Utrecht and University of Sofia, supported by the Erasmus+ program, National Agency of North Macedonia.
